Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept Mastercard, Visa Credit, Debit, Commercial Cards including Visa & Mastercard Corporate. We also accept payment by these methods over the telephone.

You can, if you prefer, pay by cheque and mail your order to us. Please make cheques payable to 'Doreen Preston and Son' and remember to include all details of your order.

Schools & colleges may select the Purchase Order option.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Shipping And Handling

A fixed postage rate, currently £10.00, is charged for delivery within most areas of the UK, irrespective of the size of the order. For the Scottish Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland and Isle of Wight, rates are currently £15.00.

Delivery Schedule

Whilst we endeavour to dispatch orders received by midday for next day delivery the current driver shortage means a higher proportion of parcels are taking longer to arrive at their destination. For the majority of orders within the UK, we will ship your order by DHL 24hr courier service, but for some destinations we use 48hr (2 day) service. Contact us if your order is urgent and we can advise whether we can dispatch within your timescales. If your order does not arrive within the specified timeframe, contact us immediately and we will chase the courier on your behalf. Please note we cannot be held responsible for late deliveries if we are unaware of them.

Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, we will contact you by email or phone with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

VAT

All prices shown exclude VAT.

VAT is charged at the standard rate of 20%.

Credit Card Security

When the order is placed at our website, the transaction is processed by RBS WorldPay - the RBS WorldPay payment system uses a combination of both established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data. The transfer of the purchase details from our website to RBS WorldPay are encapsulated using RBS's encrypted and digitally signed protocol. This uses a combination of standard methods such as PGP, RSA and MD5 to ensure that the information passed is secure and tamper-proof.

Returns Policy

You have the right to cancel your order at any time before delivery and within 14 days after the day of receiving your goods.  You may notify us of cancellation by e-mail or telephone. We will provide a full credit or replacement for unused and unmarked goods that are not to specification/bespoke items, within 14 days of cancellation.

If you decide to cancel your order under the Distance Selling Regulations you must provide written notification to us, within the above mentioned timescale, by letter or email, we will then provide you with a returns number and a date by which the goods must be received by.

In the event of you cancelling your order within the time frame mentioned above, you will be responsible for the cost of returning your goods to us; goods must be returned in a saleable condition with their original packaging. After fourteen days the sale is considered closed and we will not make a refund.

When returning goods, we recommend using recorded delivery - if an item being returned to us is lost in transit it is the buyer's responsibility. In the unlikely event of us delivering an incorrect or faulty item we will refund the cost of returning the item and offer you the choice of having your order re-delivered or cancelled.


Exceptions: Made to measure items (for instance tablecloths cut to the size specifications of the buyer) cannot be returned except on the basis of manufacturing defects.  (An unexpected tone/colour shade is not classed as a manufacturing fault).

Please note that due to the manufacturing process of these tablecloths there may be very small blemishes that naturally occur which we do not deem as faulty.
